End User License Agreement
This End User License Agreement ("EULA") is a legal agreement between you and Josh Isaacs ("we", "us") governing your use of the Plugr software application ("Software"). By installing or using Plugr, you agree to be bound by this EULA. If you don't agree, don't install or use Plugr.
This EULA works alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. If there's any conflict between this EULA and the Terms of Service, the Terms of Service control.
1. Grant of license
Subject to your compliance with this EULA, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the Software on the number of Macs allowed by your subscription tier:
- Free trial: 1 Mac, for 14 days
- Monthly or Annual subscription: up to 2 Macs concurrently
- Lifetime license: up to 3 Macs concurrently
You may deactivate a Mac and activate on a different one at any time through your customer portal.
2. Permitted use
You may use Plugr for personal or commercial music production purposes — including using it in your professional studio, with clients, or as part of a paid creative workflow. There are no royalty obligations on any output you create with Plugr.
3. Restrictions
You may not:
- Copy, modify, distribute, sell, sublicense, rent, or lease the Software
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code, except where law expressly allows it
- Remove or alter any proprietary notices or labels in the Software
- Bypass or attempt to bypass the trial-period, license-activation, or feature-gating mechanisms
- Use the Software in a way that violates any applicable law or regulation
- Use the Software to compete directly with us by building a competing product based on its functionality
4. Ownership
Plugr remains our property. This EULA grants you a license, not a sale. All intellectual property rights in the Software, including the source code, design, branding, and documentation, remain ours.
Any data you create with Plugr — notes, tags, project metadata, custom categories — remains yours. Plugr does not claim any rights to it.
5. Updates & new versions
We may release updates to the Software from time to time. Updates may add, change, or remove features.
For active subscription holders: you receive all updates as long as your subscription is active.
For Lifetime license holders: you receive all updates to features available at the time of your purchase. Brand-new feature areas added later may be subscription-only — we'll be clear about this when applicable.
6. Termination
This EULA remains in effect until terminated. You may terminate it at any time by uninstalling the Software.
We may terminate this EULA — and revoke your license — if you violate its terms. On termination, you must stop using Plugr and delete all copies in your possession. Termination does not require us to refund any prepaid amounts (except as covered by our Refund Policy).
7. Disclaimer & limitation of liability
The Software is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
In no event will we be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of the Software, even if we've been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim under this EULA will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.
Some jurisdictions don't allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of liability for incidental or consequential damages. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent allowed by law.
8. Third-party components
Plugr is built on top of several open-source software components — including Electron, React, and various Node.js libraries — each governed by its own license. A complete list of these components and their licenses is available inside the app under Help → Acknowledgments.
9. Governing law
This EULA is governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, USA. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts in Boulder County, Colorado. Where local consumer protection law gives you stronger rights, those rights apply.
