Built for producers

The hub you've always wanted for your Mac studio.

Plugins, projects, update managers, updates, deals, and the little producer tools you keep Googling — all in one place, so you can spend more time making music.

Never miss an update

Plugr automatically tracks and flags your outdated plugins and apps. Update them in one click via the developer's site or the plugin manager that handles it. Every vendor's plugin manager (Native Access, Waves Central, Arturia Software Center, and more) lives on one labeled tab, so you know exactly which plugins each one handles.

See what you actually use

Plugr quickly scans your Ableton Live, Logic Pro, and FL Studio projects and shows what you actually use — your top plugins, your top plugin types (effects, instruments, utilities), and the developers you depend on. Organize with tags, ratings, statuses, and notes; play and compare project bounces right inline; search across every project from one place.

Never overpay for plugins again

Plugr shows you the best deals from a curated set of trusted retailers (Plugin Boutique, Audio Plugin Deals, and more) and identifies the most relevant offers based on your existing library.

Updates

Never miss an update again and keep your projects working

Plugr keeps tabs on hundreds of plugin and app developers — FabFilter, Soundtoys, Adobe, Plugin Alliance, Native Instruments, Microsoft, UAD, iZotope, Valhalla, and many more. The moment a new version is out, you'll see it — and know where to get it.

  • Works with hundreds of major plugin and app developers right out of the box
  • Plugr checks for updates automatically on launch, and re-checks any time you click "Check for Plugin Updates"
  • For developers Plugr doesn't know yet, the "Find update source" flow lets you choose — have Plugr search the developer's site automatically, or paste in the right page manually
  • Teach Plugr a source for one plugin, and it'll try the same pattern on every other plugin from the same developer — enabling update tracking for a whole catalog in one click
  • "Major upgrade" badge for big version jumps, so you know which updates might be paid
  • Companion Apps tab puts Native Access, Waves Central, Adobe Creative Cloud, and every other update manager one tap away — with update badges when a managed plugin needs attention
  • Working sources that opted in users submit feed back into a shared pool — making Plugr get better every time you use it

Projects

Discover which plugins you actually use, and the ones you're forgetting

Point Plugr at your project folders and see your library the way you really use it — by what actually shows up in your sessions.

  • See your studio at a glance: the plugins you reach for most, the kinds of sounds you build with, and the developers behind your best work. Click anything to drill in.
  • Auto-detected tempo, project key, and DAW version (Ableton Live and FL Studio), so you can filter, sort, and organize your projects all in one place.
  • Project bounces are auto-discovered from your project folder — preview and compare them directly in Plugr so you can know if you really improved the mix or destroyed it in your last session.
  • Annotate every project with tags, ratings (A–F), customizable workflow statuses (such as "Rough Concept", "In Progress", "Mixing", "Released"), and free-text notes
  • Open any project in your DAW with one click; quickly find every session you've used a particular plugin in

Plus everything you'd hope an app like this has

Producer tools

Tap tempo, BPM ↔ delay calculator, Camelot wheel — built right in. No more flipping to a browser tab in the middle of a session.

Tagging & favorites

Tag plugins with anything you want ("mastering chain", "vocal", "live set"), favorite the heavy hitters, hide the cruft you'll never delete but never use.

Multi-format aware

Tag, categorize, or set an update source on one format and every other format of the same plugin (VST3, VST2, AU, AAX, CLAP) inherits it automatically — no more managing the same plugin five times.

Bulk editing

Clean up your library fast — rename, retag, or organize hundreds of plugins at once instead of clicking one by one. Every bulk action is undoable, so you can experiment without fear.

Studio palette themes

Eleven themes built in — three system defaults plus eight studio-inspired palettes that match the look of popular DAWs.

iCloud sync

Optional: keep your tags, favorites, project library, and update sources in sync between your studio Mac and your laptop.

Backup & restore

Save your entire Plugr setup — tags, favorites, notes, custom sources, project annotations — as a single file. Restore it on a new Mac in seconds.

Export your library

Take your full plugin library out as a spreadsheet anytime — for backup, insurance documentation, or just peace of mind.

Menu bar mode

Optionally run Plugr in the macOS menu bar so deal alerts keep firing even when the window's closed. Pair with launch-at-login for fully hands-off deal monitoring.

A little something extra

Click the Plugr logo five times in the app. That's all we're telling you.

Frequently asked

Quick answers. Full FAQ here, or email us if you don't see your question.

What plugin formats does Plugr support?

VST3, Audio Unit (AU), VST2, AAX, and CLAP. It also catalogs all the standalone apps on your Mac so you can organize and keep them up to date as well.

Does Plugr work on Windows?

Not yet. Plugr is currently macOS-only (macOS 12 Monterey or later, Apple Silicon and Intel both). We hope to support Windows in the future, but it isn't currently planned.

How accurate is the update checking?

For the hundreds of developers Plugr knows about — most of the big names you use every day — very accurate. For developers it doesn't recognize yet, Plugr's built-in tools will help find the correct update source, or allow you to manually add them as needed, then remembers for next time. With a little bit of one-time setup, Plugr becomes a reliable one-stop update machine.

Several developers (Plugin Alliance, Native Instruments, Slate Digital, Waves, and others) handle updates through their own update managers. Plugr knows about those too, and points you to the right place to grab the update, organizing all your companion apps in one central location.

Will Plugr make permanent changes to my computer?

Only when you explicitly tell it to. "Move to Trash" is reversible (files go to your macOS Trash, not deleted permanently) and asks for confirmation. Everything else — categories, tags, favorites — is metadata that lives in Plugr's local cache and never touches your actual plugin files.

What's the difference between subscription and lifetime?

Subscription gives you all features as long as you're subscribed; cancel and the app drops to a read-only view of your existing scan data. Lifetime is a one-time payment for all features available at the time of purchase, plus all updates to those features forever. We may sunset the Lifetime tier at some point — anyone who bought a lifetime license keeps it forever.

Does Plugr send my data anywhere?

Your library, projects, tags, favorites and notes stay on your Mac, and your additions sync between your Macs if you turn on the iCloud sync feature. Plugr only reaches out to developer websites to check for updates and to the deal sites to pull in sales — it never uploads your library anywhere.

If you turn on iCloud sync, your data syncs between your own Macs through Apple's iCloud, not our servers. Full details in the privacy policy.
